Out of Service Area
Mileage Rate Calculation
The Pet Guardians has a limit on our service area so that we can maintain commitments, minimize excessive driving, and keep our scheduled daily routes as efficient as possible. We also understand that there may be animals in need of our top-notch service, who happen to live outside of this service area. As an option to our out-of-service-area families, we have created an extended range, with flexible rates based on distance & drive time.
We will notify you directly if you are out-of-area, and communicate your unique rate add-on prior to services. You have the option to decline services. Below are details on how we determine mileage rates:
The Pet Guardians' service area is defined as no more than 25 minutes of (Google Maps sourced) drive time from the center of Saratoga Springs. Rates listed on our service page assume clients are within the service area.

We do offer the option to service out of service area clients - these services will have a mileage charge associated with them that is set based on your home's location and a few other factors. The following is how we calculate the mileage charge:

Google maps is used to determine the time it takes to travel to your home from the center of Saratoga Springs.

We subtract our standard 25 minutes from this number.

The remaining number in minutes is multiplied by $1.00 - 50 cents per minute on the way out of our service area, and 50 cents per minute to return to our service area.​​

We reserve the right to change or alter the mileage rate based on other factors including time of day, traffic, bus routes, and any other factor that may impact drive time.
